We arrived at the beach today to a fun sight!! There was a seal basking in the sun! At first we thought it was dead! But then we realized it was just relaxing on the beach! The lifeguards had put up 'caution' tape so that no one would get too close! It attracted a lot of attention--from Emerie especially but also from everyone walking by!
While the other kids were boogie boarding and body surfing Emerie sat with me and buried herself in the sand! She is such a beach bum! :)

oh my! that seal is too fun! what a cool thing to see up close in it's natural habitat and not just on tv or with the trainers at sea world!
i'm so jealous of all of your beach time, i'm right there with emerie, i love the water but i LOVE the beach. although, not so much the burrying myself in it any more, you know, too much sand in all the wrong places, that sort of thing!
emerie's birthday looks like it was so fun, i am stunned though that she is SIX years old! when did that happen stacie? she is a darling girl and my favorite was the tiara pinata! i needed that for girls camp!
