Twirly Skirts!

Taylor wanted the light blue and brown fabrics

I made these twirly skirts at a Relief Society Sewing class!  I let the kids choose the fabrics and away we went!  They weren't really that hard either!  They reminded me of the skirts my mom makes and the kids love wearing!  

Emerie chose the bright colors!  And she had a cute shrug to go with it!

Emerie started 3rd grade today and Taylor is a 6th grader!  Payton is sad because her sister's are going back to school!  Payton gets lonely during the day and can't wait til they get home!

Neighbors Have a 'Travel' Party

 Taylor was invited to a party at Lydia's house!  They sent her a 'plane ticket' and explained what she could and could not bring.  It was so fun!  Lydia's mom dressed up like a flight attendant and Lydia's dad was the TSA security officer.

While Taylor was at her party we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores!  Yum!

I taught Emerie and Taylor how to crochet after they found some crochet hooks and some yarn.  They haven't stopped making 'chains'!  I guess I need to teach them how to do the next row...

Emerie and Taylor had to get plaster impressions of their teeth for their pending mouth bars and butterflies next week!   They didn't know what was going to happen!  ;)

Maddie has had them before and so she knew what they were in for!  Taylor gagged and almost threw up!  ;)
The ladies there were so good with her!  She had tears running down her cheeks!  :(

Emerie LOVED it!  ;)   That is so her!  She smiled and said it tasted good!  That was good because they had to redo one of hers!

They also got spacers in their teeth getting their teeth ready for their appliances so Tay wanted to show hers off!

Cherry Pitting...Here We Come! :)

All the kids chipped in to pit the 24 lbs. of cherries!  :)

Through the Bountiful Baskets this week I was able to get a 24 lb. box of cherries for $26 which was a GREAT deal!  Now, just to figure out what to do with them...

Taylor volunteered (after I told her I would pay her) to pit all the cherries!  So, of course, Emerie and Payton wanted to help out too!  They de-stemmed the cherries and threw out any yucky ones!

Taylor had a great system going...it took about 3 hours!

So now I have frozen cherries...next to my frozen blueberries, strawberries and bananas!!

Soccer Season 2010

We have 3 kids this year in soccer:  Taylor, Emerie and Payton.  It has been crazy with practices and games and the weather (the monsoon season this year has been brutal!) but a lot of fun!

Payton mostly just 'follows' the ball in an arc but rarely gets close to it!  She must just love running and following everyone else running!  ;)

I think she actually touched the ball this game!  ;)

Taylor is a great soccer player!  Too bad she missed a couple games during our trip to UT and then missed a bunch (that we hope will be rescheduled) due to the monsoon rains!

TWILIGHT Mania Here We Come!! ;)

Maddie and Tay's orthodontist did it again!  He rented 3 theaters for private showings of Eclipse! We got to see the movie at 7pm and didn't have to stand in line all night--we still stood in line for the 3 theaters so we could get the perfect seat!  Don't have a picture of our GREAT seats because they don't allow cameras in the theater AT ALL!  I had to take it out to the car--they have security guards!!  ;)

End of School!

The end of school is always exciting and sad at the same time!  Emerie's teacher actually cried!  She was really cute as she talked about each student!

I can't believe Emerie is going into 3rd grade and Taylor is going to be in 6th grade!  Luckily they are in this charter school because FUSD is making 6th grade part of middle school now!

Hair Bows Craft

We had such a good time making hair bows!  We saw Amber's blog about a bow party and decided to make some on our own!  We bought a bunch of flowers, all different colors.  We then took them apart and then stacked them with other colored flowers and a fun center jewel and attached it all to a clip and viola!  We ended up making 80 bows!!!  :)

Mountain School Program

Mountain School put on an end of year program and each class had presentation--usually singing a song and doing some actions.

Emerie's class sang 'Upside Down' by Jack Johnson.  Yes, she knows all the words so she now sings it expertly in the car everytime the song comes on the radio!  ;)

Taylor's class sang 'Jailhouse Rock' by Elvis Presley.  We had made these cute poodle skirts a few years ago and so we were able to pull them out of the Halloween bucket and not have to make new ones!  :)
