I always try to sign up to help out for different parties the kids have. If they let me bring Payton with me I will try to help out in the classroom.
For Emerie's class I signed up to make rice krispie treat pumpkins. I didn't realize they were 3-D pumpkins! I thought I just had to make rice krispie treats with orange food coloring and then cut them out in the shape of a pumpkin! Well, not exactly! I had to make the rice krispie treats with the orange food coloring, right before being fully set-up I had to make them into balls! Then I had to decorate them with a face and a stem! I went all over creation to find the shoelace style black licorice to make the mouth--to no luck! Their mouths were going to have to be red. I was told green gum drops were good for stems but who sells just green gum drops? I would have had to buy 4 packages of multi-colored gum drops just to get enough green ones! And then we would have all these extra (and in my opinion--yucky) gum drops left over. I went with rolos for the stems! YUM!
It took forever to make 25 round pumpkins and then to decorate them--especially since Emerie insisted on helping to decorate them--hence the 'unique' pumpkin faces! Also--Kerby had to join in on the decorating because it was already bedtime for the kids! And during all this I was also making chocolate chip pumpkin cookies for Taylor's class too! Lo and behold by morning most of the pumpkins heads had starting drooping and had to be reconstructed! What a nightmare!! ;)

That'll teach you to ever volunteer again! LOL! If you lived closer, I would have helped you.
