GIRLS CAMP 2009

I was so lucky to be able to go with Maddie her first year of Girls Camp! She was so excited! I was made Assitant Camp Director (I have NO idea why--seeings as I HATE camping, at least the tent kind!) and Elisa was our Camp Director!

What a great group of girls we have in our ward! I was nervous for Maddie beginning a new ward and just starting Young Women! But they took her right in and she loves it!!

The camp was located in Happy Jack (what a name for a city) and it was gorgeous but cold! Yes, my down sleeping bag was a necessity up here in the mountains at night!

Our theme was 'Survivor' and we had such fun with it! We did the 'Survivor' logo on the t-shirts and the leaders skit was 'I'm a Survivor'! W

Of course girls camp isn't complete without the 'hair braids'!! ;)

The girls at the top of the Virtue Hike! These girls are amazing! :)

Laura was our resident french braider!
We sure miss Laura since she moved to Phoenix! :(

The 1st Years (in the turquoise bandanas)

That campfire kept us all warm!

The leaders doing their 'I'm a Survivor' skit! It was so hilarious!

My top secret 'inside joke' of Amy!

The whole group at the end of camp!

The leaders doing the "LM" for Lake Mary Ward! ;)

Sounds like so much fun, luckily for Maddie that she had you there. Especially since it was her first year. Aww brings back memories for me.

What a treat for you both, her first year and you there. I know I enjoyed my time with my girls over the years. Nothing like Girl's Camp! Different faces, same looks/activities in your pics: skits, camp songs, fire pits, braided hair and dirt.

You know I hated girls camp as a girl but I do hope that I have the chance to go as a leader when the time comes for Haylee! Glad you had fun:)
