As anyone who knows me well I HATE handwashing anything! In fact, if an item requires handwashing I probably won't buy it! So this adventure was definitely not my forte but I did it!!
With the current situation with the economy and, of course, being told for many years to have it--we invested in some food storage! Now I always had a lot of canned food and stuff like that but as far as flour, sugar, rice, pasta--ya know--the basics I didn't always have alot!
So I handwashed 6 large buckets and 4 small ones--plus lids! Then I labeled 'em and stuffed 'em! Yeah! One LESS thing to worry about!!!
I also purchased several cases of beans (all kinds), canned chicken, tuna, (can't have too much protein, right!?) We might be eating the same things over and over but I guess we would at least be eating!!

What a great idea. I love how organized you are! You have inspired me. In church recently they have been encouraging us to do this. It is definately a time for all of us to waste less. Just think of all the gas and time you'll be saving having your ingredients on hand. Now I have some stocking up to do because even worse than hand washing things is traveling back and forth to the grocery store in Utah freezing, snowy, icy weather. Yikes . . . and it's almost here.
you are so good. i love those big buckets. what a great idea. you are right that i guess we all need to get on it seeing that they have been telling us forever to do it. you have inspired me. thanks.
Wow, it looks great! I am impressed with your organizational skills! Way to go!
Good for you! I have been thinking a lot about food storage these days too.
Your mom just showed me her containers and lids--I need to get some of those. The ones I used to have in the olden days were so hard to open that if there was a disaster, we would have starved to death trying to get our food out of the containers. I love how you've used your lettering to show what is inside.
Like everyone else said: You have inspired me to do mine also. Eli keeps saying we need to do it, but makes no effort in helping me do so. Heads up I might be calling you to get some labels of my own.
MOM YOU WEIRD
Good job, Stace. You never know when the food delivery trucks can't make it through the snow this winter to Flag. Keep that Hot choc stash! We may come visit.
yay for you, it's such a good feeling to get some of that done. i'm with you on "we may be eating the same thing over and over, but at least we would be eating". for real, i'm not stocking up for a short order kitchen, just trying to stay alive baby.
I totally want to copy you - what a great idea! Thanks for the inspiration.
