Field Day! Yeah! (Part 2)

Well--The older grades (3-5) had their field day from 1:00pm-3:00pm. We arrived around 1:45pm after Payton got up from her nap. They did alot of the same things as the younger ones but with and older child twist! The tugowar was fun! Taylor did really well but ended up losing (the picture shows how close she came to winning)! Madison also did well and pulled out a win! Taylor did really well on the sack races and Madison had fun with the parachute! There was also 'horse racing' --one child holds the reins and the other one runs, the water sponge game but passing it to the other child behind you over your head, dodge ball, tire racing, balancing, popsicles...and more I just can't think of right now!

Yes--the wind blown look--Don't you know it is windy practically everyday in Las Vegas!! Which was good because it made it not so hot! Wow-- it was at least 90 degrees today!!
Emerie took this picture--she didn't even cut off my head! Emerie and Payton spent a lot of the day on the "Big Toy" which was good because then I knew where they were. The other portion of the time they were walking around squirting everyone with their squirt bottles!! We went through a lot of water today!!

Taylor in the sack races!

Madison in the Tug-O-War!

Field Day! Yeah! (Part 1)

Well--I thought I would post HALF of the field day for this post. Emerie had hers in the morning and Taylor and Maddie have theirs in the afternoon. I came home after Emerie's, fixed lunch, put Payton down for her nap (hopefully this won't be the day she chooses to sleep 3 hours--ooh how I love those days!) and then back to the school about 2:00pm to see the older girls. I took some movies--I love this little function on my camera which I have had for a year and never used the movie thing--and I also took some still shots. Emerie is so funny trying to do the Macarena!! She even said 'Macarena' is my last name! Oh, so your name is Emerie Sage Macarena? Yes--she says!!

Mother's Day Memories

Well--they are not the memories you might be thinking of. Think 1 year old barfarama. Yes, it's true! Payton started throwing up Saturday night about 10:30pm! It continued every 15-20 minutes till about 12:30am. So, needless to say, we did not make it out to the Mother's Day Brunch we were all excited about and that our mouths were watering for! Kerby tried to convince me to have a day with just the older two but that just didn't seem right! So we all stayed home and dealt with the throw up baby together!

It has been a crazy week with all the Emerie stuff. We finally scheduled the surgery and then shortly after found out that is the same day as her Kindergarten program! Go figure! I think I am going to try to see if we can change it, again! Or maybe find out what time she is scheduled for on the 30th--that probably won't help because they usually schedule them by age!

During all this I at least am getting some exercise in! I went Friday, Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I even took a "Boot Camp" class with Laurel that completely kicked my butt! I liked it but I was definitely hurting the following day! On Thursday she wants us to try a spinning class! I wonder if I'll survive?! Payton goes to the kids gym and somedays she likes it and somedays she doesn't. I am trying to get her used to it so I don't feel bad dropping her off!

It's Official! Surgery is May 30th!

Well--after a meeting with the ENT to go over the sleep test results he stated that she does have sleep apnea but not a horrible case of it. Her oxygen levels do go down to 'unhealthy' levels when she sleeps so hopefully the surgery will alleviate that. He ordered some pre-surgery tests: EKG and a chest X-ray so we did those today! The movie is showing how Emmie acts at the doctors office! She is a goof ball! The next picture was the EKG--Emmie asked to have her picture taken (I think I started a trend!) The surgery is scheduled for Friday, May 30th, which happens to be Payton's birthday! We may have to celebrate her birthday early or late?!

It's a Family Affair

Well--Saturday all the kids wanted to go to the YMCA! They had heard me talk about it and the fact that they would let them work-out with me so they wanted to try it out! Taylor and I started out on the treadmills and Kerby and Madison started out on the bikes. I ran about a mile on the treadmill (running with an incline) and Kerby did 6 miles on the bike. We were sweating like dogs! Of course, Taylor and Madison were just trotting along not even breaking a sweat! I love that we can do this together! Then Taylor and I went to the bikes and I did about 6 miles. There isn't a whole lot Taylor can do because of her height--her legs are not long enough for the bikes, stair stepper, eliptical machines... I felt bad because she wanted to do all of these so bad! I hope she has a growth spurt soon! I wasn't hurting too bad Saturday but by Sunday I was feeling it!!

In the picture I tried to get Madison to smile but she was just like--"Take the picture Mom, I feel stupid!" They are going to thank me someday when I have all these pictures of their life, right!? Payton was so excited to have me pick her up from the kids gym that she isn't in the picture but Emerie is always ready for a picture!

Fitness Here I Come!

Well--I joined the YMCA today!! Laurel and I signed up for the 3-month summer membership deal they had going. No sign-up fee and then there was also a discount. It is a fairly brand-new center and it is really nice! It is kind of small but not really that busy so it's great!! After the sign-up we did the treadmill and the eliptical bike! It definitely kicked my butt! Then we did some weight machines for our arms and legs! Payton loved the kids gym! She walked right in and never cried! Which is good because I plan to try to go at least 3 mornings (5 if I really try) a week!

They have indoor pools and a great outdoor pool with waterslides and everything! It will be really fun in the summer when the outdoor pool opens!! They will even let the older girls workout with me!! They are excited too!

I hope to try to tone my muscles and have more energy! I know I will be hurting tomorrow but if that is what it takes--I'm game!!

'Deep' Conversation

Yes, another Emerie story. We were driving through the parking lot of the hospital (because it is quicker to get home) and she stated there were a lot of patients at the hospital because there were a lot of cars parked there. We told her that the cars parked in the back of the hospital were not patients but the employees. She said "No, there are a lot of people that are patients in the hospital and people that come to visit other people and those that go to see the dead bodies." We then said, "Patients and those that come to visit them park in the front. The dead bodies go to a mortuary." "What is a mortuary?" she asked. We then said "A place where they get the bodies ready for a funeral." She then asked "What is a funeral?" Our answer was "A place where people get to see their loved ones before they are buried." She then said "No, a funeral is where they put the body in something and put flowers on top." We then said, "Yes, they put the body into a coffin, put flowers on top during the ceremony and then they are buried in the ground." Her statement was "Ooooohhhhh, that way God can come down and get their body so he can make them alive again." "Well, only your spirit goes to heaven with God." was our answer. Of course, Emerie then said "What is a spirit?" Needless to say our short drive to Smith's grocery store seemed very long...

Oh, by the way she also stated she wanted to ride the YMCA bus (she saw it on the road). We asked why and she said she wanted to see where it went and what the 'YMCA' stands for; --and to sign up for gymnastics...

Poor Emerie!!

Poor Emerie! If it is not one thing, it is another! She had been complaining that her tooth hurt but I didn't think much of it. We had gone to the dentist about 4 months ago so I hadn't even thought she might have a cavity! Well--I was helping her brush her teeth and there it was! A cavity! I called the dentist right away and they got us in ASAP and low and behold she had the cavity filled! She actually did pretty good! She didn't even cry! She did, however, drive the hygienist and the dentist nuts! She was walking all around the room (sitting on this, touching that) asking what this was or that was! She was non-stop talking! If you can look really close there are "teeth" that clamp the paper around her neck. Well--she actually (while the dentist was try to talk to her) pretended to "bite" him with them!! Ugh!! That's our Emmie for ya!!

The last photo shows her trying to step on the buttons that move the chair up and down! She was thoroughly interested in everything in that office!!

Emerie's Sleep Test

Emerie had her sleep test done last night. It was very interesting! They hooked her up to all sorts of wires and straps! They even had a small wire under her nose that measures how much she breathes through her nose and how much she breathes through her mouth. They had a wire hooked to her toe to measure her pulse-ox (how much oxygen she is getting in her blood).
Emerie was a little nervous at first when they were putting them on but got use to it! Many times throughout the night the technicians had to come in and adjust the wires that had come loose or put back on the wire on her toe because it had come off. They actually video her while she sleeps. It was not a restful sleep for either of us! The technician finally woke us up at 4:55am and said she was nervous Emerie would fall off the bed and they had enough readings. They then had to pull off all the wires and straps. I still don't know how Emerie slept with all those wires and patches stuck to her face and all around her head!

On the way out of the sleep center Emerie said, " I thought this was going to be more fun than that!" Is that classic Emerie or what?!

Neighborhood Party at the Park

We had a neighborhood party at Lone Mountain Park on Saturday. It was fun! We cooked hamburgers, played frisbee, played on the swings and slides and played soccer with a GIANT soccer ball! We actually stopped at Target on our way to buy this awesome giant frisbee that worked so great!! Payton hung out with her friend, Cassidy (who loves her in nursery!)

Even Mom got in the action with the frisbee!!

After the park we headed back home and went swimming!! It was such a great weather day we thought it would be great to take a dip in the pool! We hadn't heated it so it was a little cool but the kids still had fun!
